Here are some of our most frequently asked questions
We are located in Grand Island, Florida, just a short drive from the Leesburg, Tavares, Mount Dora, and Eustis communities. Our address is 13229 County Road 44, Grand Island, FL 32757. Look for the big cross and you can’t miss us.
Our Bible Fellowship groups start on Sunday morning at 9:15 am. Worship begins at 10:30 am.
Our pastors preach expository sermons. Expository preaching is when the main point of the Bible passage is the main point of the sermon. Typically we go passage-by-passage through books of the Bible.
Bible Fellowship Groups are our small groups. They are the primary way we CONNECT with each other. A BFG is a great place to engage in bible studies and get to know others from Grand Island! We have a group for all ages.
We have classes for children, young adults, senior adults, and all adults in between! Whether you are on your own or coming as a couple, we have a place for you to get know others in a similar walk of life! If you have small children, we offer Children’s Worship during our morning worship as well. See our Children’s Ministry page for more details. If you have youth, see our Student page for detail regarding our youth ministry.
Yes! We have childcare available for ages birth – three years. All of our volunteers are GIBC members have been approved by a background check. See our Children’s Ministry page for more details.
Dress for Sunday morning is usually “one step above jeans,” although some do save their nice jeans for Sunday morning. Some will be wearing suits, while others will be a little more casual. We encourage everyone to dress conservatively and modestly. Wednesday nights are more casual, although still conservative and modest.
Our worship time is one of celebration! We sing a variety of music, ranging from classic hymns to modern worship songs. Sermons are always based in scripture, with the desire that people understand God’s Word better as a result of being with us.
Our cross is a cell tower, but it is also much more! We did not use any ministry money to build it, the cost of construction was paid for by someone else. This is a beautiful reminder that when our savior was nailed to the cross, He paid for our sins, and paid for them in full. It is by grace that we are saved! We believe, we see this cross, and we are thankful.
